Hi guys... for those of you who've been using my graphics to design your own wallpaper/calendars, this month I've also giving you a "blank canvas" to make things even easier to put your own designs together quickly.
October 2009 wallpaper/calendar (preview)

The image above is a preview of the October wallpaper/calendar we're giving away on my art website Its a photo of a chessboard I finally finished last month.
If you'd like to use the image above on your own blog or website, you can either download it and give it away as is or feel free to add your own text below the image.
And remember, people do not download wallpapers to see advertising on their computer screens so... less is more, keep it simple.
And a "blank canvas"...

And... if you'd like to create your own wallpaper/calendar, I'm also releasing the background image with the October calendar ready for you to add your own image and text.
You can download it here and using any graphics program, add your own text and image.
A quick example...

The image above shows an example of how you can add a simple photo and a little text to turn the "blank canvas" into your own masterpiece. Just...
- download the background image
- open it in any graphics program (it's a standard .jpg image)
- add your own photo and text
- save it
- upload it to your blog or website to give away
- it's also a good idea to create a small preview image so it fits well into your blog
Note: You do not need any expensive programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc... to add simple text. You can do this with pretty much any graphics program you have. If you don't have one, there are many free and inexpensive graphics editors that will do the trick. I'll review some in an upcoming post.
Once again, I'm releasing this image into the blogosphere under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike license which in plain English means you can use it however, wherever and whenever you like including on commercial blogs & websites, no restrictions
On that note boys & girls, have a great week...

October again already? Geez!
Sabrina... tell me about it, the months seems to go by like a couple of days!
Marti, I love the graphics! Not sure if I love the chess one more than the Teddy Bear :) Thanks for the information, I'll have to go back and read things I would have never known about.
Love the graphics Marti - I am really loving the blank one for customizing. I need to think of some cool way to enhance it. You are so generous - thanks!
Marti-your timing couldn't have been more perfect for me .....I was trying to find the instructions to make these backgrounds, size wise for something I am writing. Last time I came to AR I didn't see anything from you, and today look what you have up here :) So, I can put your background on my Squidoo lens? Also marti do you have a link to your Post on how to make these? I am putting your name and website on my lens as not only my inspiration, but also for a resource for getting their own calendars if they don't want to make them.
Missed you and the Group :)
Carole... the T Bear was an experiment I did one day and it came out kind of cute, will probably do more of these in the future. Nite!
Sheila... it's the least I can do for being absent so much lately. ;-)
Kathy... good timing as well, I just left a comment on the amazing pic you posted earlier today. You've been missed as well and yes, feel free to use the background anywhere you like.
As for a link, you'll have to go thru my posts, I think it was late 2008 but my memory sucks so I could be wrong. ;-)
Thank you again! You do beautiful work. Everyone is always asking where my desktops come from.
Very nice. I like the clean lines and look of your desktop calendars. I haven't used a computer desktop calendar, but it looks like a great idea. I especially like the ones in the bottom corner.
Marti.... I LOVE TEDDI BEARS Oh and he is so cute ..I love it ! Now I am really excited to see more in the future..What a gift ..Thank You
HELPFULHANNAH
Mark... I thank you, really nice to hear that. The wallpapers are a great way to connect with people online.A very non-intrusive way to build your brand.
Lisa... definitely a great idea and now that I'm giving you guys a pre-made blank canvas to work with, it should be extra easy! ;-)
Hannah... me too. The T Bear was an experiment but was a hit among my friends. Nite.
The t-bear is wonderful.. I am going to see what I can do with some fall themes... that is if I get a moment. thanks Marti and hope you are doing well.
Thanks marti...I just put the CC license on my lens and the downloaded background. Now I have to go through my Posts here to find the one I wrote about you back in 08 for background and links :) Q- the CC license is only if they put it online, right?
Oh, and I will go see your comment.....thanks my friend ;)
Thank you Marti for your generosity. I have yet to use one, been busy with all the other AR stuff, but am looking forward to seeing if I can take advantage of this gift. I don't suppose these can be used for banners can they, if they are resized?
Thanks again.
Joan... great idea, especially for your area. Take a look at Diane Aurit's WordPress blog, she has a great new wallpaper for Fall.
Kathy... re "Q- the CC license is only if they put it online, right?"...
Pretty much, if anyone tried to print this image the resolution is too low so it would look awful because its optimized for the web.
Jane... If you resize this image to the dimensions to fit the AR blog headers it would look distorted.
Take a look at my posts from last year, I gave away a ton of blog header graphics and will be posting more very soon. Nite!
Thanks for the October graphics, Marti - they really rock this month! The chess board is fantantic - hope you have been well!
Hi Marti..Another Great Post, sharing as always with us all in the Rain :O)
Cheers, Thanks !
Leesa... life is good, just too busy as always. Rock on!!!
Fred... totally my pleasure, have a great day!
Thank you very much, Marti. I am going in :)
Thanks again for the great resources Marti!! You have provided a few new ones to check out.
Jane... Cool. ;-)
Michele... my pleasure, enjoy!

Dear Marty,

Ray... thx so much, have a great afternoon.
Bettina... you have a better memory than I do, I'll have to search thru my posts for last October. ;-)
