This week our graphic has gone green in support of LiveEarth.org
July 8, 2007...
hi everyone. It's been another interesting week in marketing with some really useful info posted by the marketing group members so let's get right to it. Here are just a few of my favorites listed in no particular order...
Outstanding Marketing Ideas & Posts
As much as I love technology, cool stuff and gadgets, I'm always more impressed by people who come up with simple, effective and totally usable ideas to get their name out there.

This week's # 1 Rainer idea that caught my eye was Cyndee Haydon's Choosing a Tampa Bay Real Estate Agent in Florida Just got Easier with Video Testimonials She listened to her clients, combined it with the power of video and the simplicity of distribution over the net and voila, another elegantly simple way to connect with potential clients in a very powerful and memorable way. Great stuff Cyndee!
More proof that great marketing ideas don't have to be complicated or expensive, think about how you can use(or variations of) a very cool post by Stacy and Jackie Jones A Cool Way To Stay In Touch
Question... is your marketing just massaging your ego or really connecting with the people you're trying to reach? If you're not sure, take a look at Tony Marriott's Effective Marketing Messages for a good example of what not to do!
More food for thought about connecting with clients was provided by Bobby Carroll in his post Are You a Giver or a Taker?
Speaking of client relations, here's a well illustrated article by Allison Stewart on Are You Irritating Buyers & Sellers? I hope you like cats and... I love the pics Allison!
This 4th of July reminder by Jeff Belonger could be used in so many ways and on so many occasions Google & 4th of July -- Another Marketing Twist We could all learn something from Google. N'est pas???
Another reminder of how simple marketing can be was given by Lizette Fitzpatrick in Why Feed Your Client Caviar When He'd Rather Have An Ice Cube?
And a nice contribution by Janie Coffey with her 101 Niche Ideas.............psst OK, not 101 but quite a few With so much competition for attention in local markets, on the web or just about anywhere, being a specialist is a great way to stand out from the crowd.
And to round out the marketing overview for this week, Gary White started an interesting debate with Closing gifts, Who's idea was that? Personally I'd love to hear from more members about this so check out his post and add your 2 cents worth.
Technology Roundup
If you haven't read Brad Carroll's article about his results with Squidoo, take a look at How 30 Minutes Can Land You 300 Visitors in 30 days Then... multiply the lessons learned in Brad's post by the number of social networks out there. Do you see the possibilities?
In The News...

I'm working on a blog about marketing yourself by tying into major events like last week's launch of Apple's IPhone and yesterday's Live Earth concert. If anyone did anything related to either of these, I'd love to hear what you did and what were the results? You can reach me here on Active Rain thru my profile or direct at marti@garauchty.com
Special Mentions
In light of all the controversy and whining that has gone on this past week about comments, posting for points, etc... I'd like to give a really BIG thank you to TLW for her Have You Considered Reciprocating Your Comments? Hmmm? ROAR! We could all learn to be a little more socially reciprocal.
Speaking of TLW, I'd also like to point out a super post by her hubby and one of Active Rain's most prolific and popular bloggers Bryant Tutas. In case you missed it, Bryant was generous enough to share his insights with us about blogging in A peek inside the head of Broker Bryant...UPDATED! I thought this would make great reading not just for the newbies, but also for those of us still trying to find our voice in the world of blogs.
On the topic of newbies, I'd also recommend for everyone to take a look at a very open, honest and much needed post by Suzanne Sands titled Not Your Average Blog Each of our posts and comments says a lot about us. If you want to build relationships or develop a following on AR of any kind, heed Suzanne's advice. This is a community of people with ideas and feelings, just check out the comments and reaction to her thoughts.

If you would like to participate in new marketing projects we'll be starting here soon on Active Rain, for tutorials on creative ways to use new technology like widgets, etc... in your marketing or to share your ideas with the group, please click the botton below to,,,
As usual, the posts I mentioned above are just a few of the many great blogs that were submitted in the past week. I look forward to seeing more great contributions from everyone in the group. Have a great week and thanks again for sharing your ideas, knowledge and opinions.

I haven't left yet marti - but thanks for remembering! I'll be heading out next weekend - I'm feeling techno withdrawals as I write this - thanks for reading the Ezine articles spot - it's pretty neat and loads of fun.
Marti,
Love the "green graphic." Thanks for the list of marketing idea posts. There is a lot of things I can incorporate.
Marti,
It has been an interesting week around here! I enjoy reading these reviews, I will have to check some of these out. Thanks for the mention, never a dull moment! :)
Thanks for gathering these posts together. I read them all and probably would not have otherwise.
Kim Dillon, Creative Eye Home Staging
Marti......helloooooooooo, you did another great review. Man, how do you have the time. I had to pry myself away from the computer today, especially AR. If I don't, then I don't get anything else done. Had to write a blog for my website, clean my office, etc. Just signed on, and since I subscribe to you, I noted you had added a new post. Thanks so much. This will help me read and respond to some posts that I hadn't seen yet. Thanks, as usual.
Marti,
I read several of the posts you suggested and I'm glad I did. You did a good job rounding them up for our review.

Marti...
This post made me very glad that every few weeks I go into 'search blogs' and punch in TLW.
If I did not do that I would miss posts like this. This place is getting huuuuuuge :)
Thank you for the mention and thank you for pointing out a few more blogs that I think I missed.
So many bloggers...So little time.
P.S. I have a brand new background screen and boy it sure is purdy :)
TLW...ROAR!
TLW... great advice about doing a blog search for our names, I have a feeling I probably missed a few things along the way myself.
No need to thank me for the mention, your post was a refreshing look at commenting.
As for your "purdy" new background screen, glad you liked it. I thought your words of wisdom deserved to be showcased.
Marti.... sorry that I am late to the party. You bring up some great points here and some great blogs, a few that I haven't read as of yet. And thanks for the mention.
On another note, I like the graphic in regards to supporting 'green'. You have some talent and thanks for sharing this with us.
Marti,
Your blog is like a smorgasbord of motivation, technical innovation and plain old talk, all rolled into one.
I am going back for seconds later!
Steve
Marti,
NICE post, wow, I went to the links and really it's a help to get a presorted list of good stuff because you don't have to just sift throught things. It would be like google just randomly posting everyone instead of having a ranking system to help you get the most relevant and quality posts. Thanks
Wow! So much info, so little time. I can't wait to read all the other blogs referenced here. I will bookmark for now, but am looking forward to learning everything there is to read in this blog. I might have to set aside a few hours for this one.
Troy... thx for stopping by, nice to "meet" you and welcome to the marketing group!
